ABOUT

We are Redi Bilt Sheds located in Minneapolis,. Check out our site and drop us a line when you're ready to order. Your comments are always welcome, whether it's kudos, suggestions, or derogatory remarks from our jealous competition. Our contact information is at the bottom of this page with our email, address and phone number.

We have 4 styles and many options to chose from. You also have the option of us building the shed for you (if you live within the area of a distribution center), or to have a complete kit delivered to your house that you put together.

WHAT MAKES OUR SHED FEATURES AND CONSTRUCTION UNIQUE?

We often get asked, "Why is Redi Bilt Sheds the company we should purchase our building from?" And "How do your sheds compare to others on the market?"
We would like to take this opportunity to explain to you what our company and our buildings have to offer and why we offer it.
We have accumulated an abundance of knowledge developing our buildings to perfection over the last 35 years. Some, by listening to suggestions and ideas from the thousands of customers whom we have had the privilege to serve.
There are many shortcuts some companies take such as inferior building materials that are used to construct their sheds. Many of these shortcuts are never noticed nor can be seen by the untrained eye. Redi Bilt Sheds does not take shortcuts and uses only the best quality materials available to construct the best buildings available at a reasonable price.
Each of these items listed below are STANDARD FEATURES that are included with every Redi Bilt Shed we build.

•Insured, Bonded, and Fully Covered with Worker's Compensation Insurance.
Why? To protect you, the consumer. Technically, if someone builds a shed and they get hurt in your yard, they could sue you. Since, you hired them, the insurance company will view that as a ‘contractor’ arrangement, and your homeowners insurance will not cover the incident.

•Up-front and honest with you about codes and ordinances.
Why? Redi Bilt Sheds wants you to be aware of building permits, setback and height limitations. While, we don’t’ follow each city specifically, we have a good idea or can direct you on who to call. We do not hide the facts just to sell you a shed.

•Plans for permit applications are included.
Why? Some sheds and all garages need building permits. To obtain the proper permits you will need plans for your local building department. We believe you shouldn't have to pay extra to receive the plans.

• Completely customize a shed to your needs. _Why? We want to know what you're using this building for so we can customize our sheds to fulfill your expectations. Maybe you need a potting shed, tack room or hobby room. Some need a shed for a motorcycle, golf cart, or riding lawn mower. An extra room, just for you to get away to, maybe a paint studio, office, or a dry shelter for your favorite pet. Customizing is easy and it's what Redi Bilt
Sheds is great at.

•Built on your site in 1 day!
Why? Almost all sheds are built in one day. We keep in contact, so you know when we’re coming.

FLOORS

• 4 x 4 Pressure-treated skids on all sheds
Why? Ensures long life. The skids allow the shed to sit on any level surface. This will provide a minimum of 3 1/2" of ground clearance for air flow, assuring proper ventilation under the shed.

• Treated on concrete
Why? Building codes in MN require treated material when in contact with concrete. Another detail we dont want to miss.

•A MINIMUM of (3) 4 x 4 pressure-treated skids on buildings 10 x 12 and larger.
Why? This exceeds code and adds even more strength to the larger buildings. This will provide 3 1/2" of ground clearance for air flow, assuring proper ventilation under the shed. This will give you a floor that will last a lifetime!

•2 x 4 floor joists on 16" centers for all sheds
Why? The floor is the most important component of your shed. Spacing the floor joists so close together, and nailing every joist to each skid, makes a strong, sturdy foundation that will last a lifetime..

•Plywood is used for the floor.
Why? Plywood is a strong and durable material that will hold up for the life of your shed. Coupled with the close spacing of the floor joists, this provides a strong floor to support everything the homeowner places on it. (We do however recommend an extra block on the floor under a kickstand if a motorcycle is to be stored in your shed.)

WALLS

• 2 x 4 Bottom Plate on every wall.
Why? This adds even more strength and integrity to the sheds because the walls are nailed through this plate to each and every floor joist.

• A Top Plate on every wall.
Why? Added strength and integrity.

• 4 “true” walls
Why? This adds even more strength and integrity to the sheds. Most sheds only have plates on the sidewalls., with studs going from the floor to the rafter. We give 4 walls, just like your house.

•Dual Door Studs
Why? Added strength and quality.

•Headers over doors.
Why? Added strength and quality.

•Plywood-based Exterior Siding.
Why? A solid material with strength for the test of time. We use a 5/8” thick material that is usually 20% thicker than most other shed manufacturers. (Most use 7/16” or 1/2” waferboard based materials.)

•A warranty on the exterior siding.
Why? We want to build a shed that will last a lifetime. Honestly, though, all material comes with a warranty. Remember, it covers the material, not the labor.

•Electro-Galvanized Ringshank nails are used on exterior siding.
Why? Galvanized nails will not rust. Ringshank means there are small sharp threads around the circumference of the nails. This helps the nails to not back out over years of abuse, adding more strength to our buildings.

•Galvanized Metal "Z-Bar" on all horizontal seams within the exterior siding.
Why? To seal out the water, ensuring extra protection from the elements.

ROOF

•Fascia board around entire roof perimeter.
Why? Aesthetically pleasing, and it will better match your home. This also protects the shed from the elements and ensures the roof sheathing to remain straight and free from warping.

•Overhang available in some styles.
Why? Aesthetically pleasing. It also benefits the building by shielding it from the elements.

•Different roof pitches.
Why? We understand some people want more than just a storage shed. You want a building that doesn't look like a shed. Different roof styles to choose from will give you more choices to customize your building to fit into your landscape and satisfy your needs.

•2x4 ridge running the entire length of your shed.
Why? The obvious is added strength and quality. Having a ridge helps give the roof structure more strength and will hold up over time to help prevent roof sag.

•Collar ties and stringers.
Why? Again, for added strength and quality. All buildings over 10’ long will have a stringer connecting the two long walls to help prevent roof sag and wall bowing. Collar ties give an extra connection along the roof peak for strength. The ridge, collar ties and stringer all work together to give an un-matched quality roof.

•Hand-cut 2x4 roof rafters on 24" centers .
Why? Added strength and quality.

• Site clean up after construction is complete.
Why? We will leave your site as clean as when we arrive. We want you to be happy with our service as well as our products.

DOORS

• Strong durable doors.
Why? We make some of the best doors around. Just about everybody notices the quality doors on our sheds the first time they open them. You’ll just have to come and take a look.
